Updates to EPR requirements for WEEE and Packaging in the UK

This concerns Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements in the UK for both Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Packaging.

  • For Packaging: EPR requirements have been effective since January 1, 2025, with 2025 fees calculated using packaging tonnages reported for 2024 and local authority waste management costs.
  • For WEEE: EPR requirements have been effective since August 12, 2025.

Both regulations require us to assume EPR obligations for the Amazon.co.uk sales of sellers who aren’t established in the UK. We use your registered business address (RBA) in Seller Central to identify your place of establishment for EPR purposes.

If your registered business address in Seller Central isn’t in the UK, you’ll be automatically enrolled in our EPR Pay on Behalf in the United Kingdom for each applicable category. This service calculates and pays eco-contribution fees for your sales, then debits those amounts from your selling account, along with an annual service fee of GBP 20 for each of the EPR categories that you sell in, in accordance with the EPR Pay on Behalf Policy for Third-Party Sellers.
